Elder Team
Josh Price // Lead Pastor
Pastor Josh and his wife, Tiffany, have three sons, Brayden, Judah, and Micah. They have lived in the Greater Richmond area since 2000, and consider it home. After serving multiple years in youth ministry and as a college and career pastor, Josh stepped out in faith and planted Vertical Church in 2012. Since then, he has loved having a front row seat to the work of God in and through this local body. In ministry, some of his greatest passions are teaching God’s word, training up other pastors, and working with other leaders to see more churches planted for the glory of Christ. On his day off you can find him reading, at the ball field with his family, and working out.
Joe Hall // Staff Pastor
Pastor Joe is married to Logan, and they have two amazing daughters, Lucy and Annie. He has been a part of Vertical Church since the summer of 2016, and was ordained as a pastor in the summer of 2019. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Furman University, he went on to earn a Masters in Christian Studies from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has worked in a church either part or full-time since 2011, serving in various capacities. He currently serves Vertical Church by leading the worship, family, and missions ministries. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Joe enjoys cheering on the Braves, and spending time outside with Logan, Lucy, Annie, and their two dogs, Bear and Ozzie.
Scott Binns // Lay Pastor
Pastor Scott and his wife, Anne, are the parents of 5 children - Chase, Jackson, Eliza, Sam and Cannon. Scott and Anne have been attending Vertical since the summer of 2016, and Scott was ordained as a pastor in the summer of 2019. Scott serves as the executive pastor and is passionate about the study of God's Word and the impact that Christian community has in the life of the believer. Now that all of their kids are currently out of the house, Scott and Anne enjoy spending time with their canine kids Cooper and Stella. Scott also enjoys outdoor activities, yard games (especially cornhole), working out and just hanging out with Anne on their screened porch at their home in Goochland.
David Spain // Lay Pastor
Pastor Dave and his wife, Kelly, have three children, David Jr, Haile Mae, and Elijah Michael. Dave was born and raised in the Richmond area, and he and his family have been members of Vertical since 2014. Soon after joining the church, he began to serve as a community group leader. In January of 2020, Dave was ordained as a pastor and now leads the community ministries of the church. He is passionate about discipleship, evangelism, and biblical counseling. In his free time, you may find him reading, lifting weights, spending time with family and friends, or competing in some sort of activity whether it's HORSE with his son or fishing with some friends.
Eric Josephsen // Lay Pastor
Eric was born and raised in Midlothian and met his wife, Carmen, while attending the University of Virginia. They have been married since 2011 and have four children - Eric III, Rudy, Elaine, and Millie. After several years in Northern Virginia, Eric and Carmen moved to Ashland in 2017. They have been members of Vertical since 2020, and Eric was ordained as a pastor in 2023. Eric is passionate about teaching God’s word, building healthy rhythms around family discipleship, and reaching the lost with the good news of Jesus. In his spare time, you’ll find Eric reading a book, playing with the kids, or tending the family’s flock of chickens!

Micah is married to Meghan. They have been members at Vertical Church since October 2022. He earned a Bachelor of Civil Engineering in December of 2018. After working for a design firm for several years, Micah began attending seminary and working part time at Bridgeway Church in Oklahoma City. He is currently working on his Master of Divinity in Christian Ministry at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. In addition to his staff role, Micah serves as a community group leader and is in the elder training program. He is originally from Oklahoma, and enjoys Oklahoma State Football, cooking with his wife, and playing pickleball.
